Full Job Description

Clinical
This list is aimed at covering the majority of duties:
1. Supervise the day-to-day management of in-patients.
2. Liaise between Nurses, Midwives patients, relatives and senior medical staff.
3. Attend and participate in ward rounds as timetabled
4. Attend outpatient clinics.
5. Take part in rostered labour ward duties and gynaecological emergency work.
6. Dictate discharge summaries.
7. Maintain continued professional development.
8. Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions.
9. Undertake audit as appropriate.
10. Teach medical students as directed.
11. Attend induction.
12. Comply with all local policies including dress code, annual and study leave.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
A typical working week may be as follows:
+ Labour Ward - 1-2 Sessions
+ Operating Theatre - 1-2 Sessions
+ Ante Natal Clinic - 1-2 Session
+ Gynaecological Clinic - 1 Session
+ Development - 1 Session
+ Postgraduate Teaching - 1 Session

The post is available from January 2025 for 12 months until January 2026.
The standard hours will be 40 hours per week plus participation in a full shift rota.
The post is for service purposes only and is therefore not recognised for postgraduate training.
The post is based at the Jessop Wing Hospital, Sheffield.
