Full Job Description

As content Producer on the Late Show you will work as part of a team. The shifts rotate between day planning shifts and live studio production.

You'll work to a Senior Content Producer and be full of ideas for guests, features and treatments that will chime with BBC Local Radio's opportunity audience of Traditional Values audiences.

As a content producer you'll be resourceful for the sort of content that fits the Late Show format - these include the strongest human interest stories from across the country.

You'll work as part of team delivering interaction on the biggest topics of the day along with fun and personality driven content.

We want the Late Show to be the Soundtrack to England and the Channel Islands at night.

You'll develop creative ways of telling complex stories which make sense to our opportunity audience.

You will be core to generating a positive, creative environment.

You will be liaising with presenters and supporting them as required.

You will drive a multiplatform agenda, constantly striving to reflect our audience and the true diversity of England and the Channel Islands in the content selected for the show.

Editorially, you will focus on quality stories over quantity and ensure that the structure and make-up of the programme addresses audience habits.

You will be responsible for ensuring our high editorial standards are adhered to and impartiality is across all content.

Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

You will be full of ideas for features and stories that can help make a successful radio programme.

You'll have great negotiating skills and be familiar with a presenter / producer dynamic.

As Producer you will always be in charge of the programme but also need to find the most effective ways to connect with and motivate the presenters.

You must have a proven track record of editorial judgement you will be producing content in a fast-moving environment.

You will be full of ideas for digital and social media content.

You will be an excellent team player as well as good and comfortable working independently on your own and you'll have good planning and organising skills.

We are looking for a talented Content Producer to be at the heart of our relationship with our local audiences working primarily on the Late Show

The Late Show broadcasts across BBC Local Radio Stations in England and the Channel Islands from 10pm to 1am. This position is part of the team that delivers the programme from Sunday to Thursday from Media City, Salford. Salary : £32,500 - £43,300 per annum dependent on relevant skills and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
