Full Job Description

The type of work you can expect to be involved in as an analyst in the role include:

  • Writing code in R & Python to carry out analytics work and responding to feedback following code reviews from other members of the team

  • Developing new features for our insurance analytics platform LCP InsurSight

  • Deploying code for new InsurSight features and other client solutions to Azure

  • Helping design and create specifications for work needed on consulting analytics projects

  • Writing and implementing tests to ensure that code is robust, works as expected and is free from errors

  • Working with the wider insurance consulting team on projects where analytics expertise is needed

  • LCP currently holds a sponsorship license for skilled worker visas, allowing us to assist with applications aligning with the UK Government's criteria for skilled worker sponsorship.   • A Level Maths A Grade (taking into account any contextualisation of grades).

  • Degree educated (minimum 2:1) or currently studying for a degree and on track to achieve a 2:1, in any subject.

  • Strong interest in analytics and experience of programming.

  • Problem solving, numeracy and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and evidence of coding ability and presentation skills

We fuse human expertise with powerful analytics to shape a more positive future for our clients and people., The Insurance Consulting department advises general insurance companies on reserving and financial risk management by building models to calculate capital requirements, supporting their analytics and underwriting, and helping meet regulatory requirements eg Solvency UK / Solvency II.


  • The work we do involves assessing and quantifying the risks associated with future events to help manage this uncertainty for insurers and ensure they are financially robust. You will get to work across a diverse range of clients writing all types of insurance. This will provide you with a broad spectrum of interesting challenges and problem-solving opportunities.

    As a Graduate in our Insurance Analytics team (within Insurance Consulting), you'll be working within a team of actuaries, data scientists and software engineers to solve interesting real-world problems in general insurance. This will include working on our multi-award-winning analytics software, LCP InsurSight, which is used by some of the largest insurers in the world and has been used on over £150bn of insurance business.
