Full Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Advanced Care Practitioner (ACP) with drive and enthusiasm to set up and establish our new Urgent Care Centre at The Wilmslow Hospital. As the Lead ACP you will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to build robust patient pathways that offer an exceptional patient experience in the Urgent Care Centre. The Lead ACP will lead on the recruitment and leadership of the team as the unit is ready to open. This is a really exciting time to join the HCA team as we build this new service line and enter into a period of expansion. The Wilmslow Hospital, rated Outstanding by the CQC, is a renowned centre for medical excellence. Delivering exceptional patient care, the hospital provides diagnostic examinations and specialised treatments for a wide range of conditions in adults. including orthopaedic surgery, ENT, gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology sports medicine and plastic surgery Primary duties:

  • The Lead ACP, with the support of the Chief Nursing Officer, will be responsible for the support, delivery and clinical excellence of the nursing service
  • Supporting in recruitment of staff, developing training programmes, inductions and establishing an urgent care team
  • Take charge of the unit and manage patient flow safely and efficiently
  • Work closely with GPs, nursing colleagues and members of the healthcare team
  • Act as an effective role model to other medical staff within sphere of responsibility
  • To be responsible for planning and organising own workload on a day to day basis and wider term
  • Supporting audits, vital voices, staff training and development.

    Registered Nurse or AHP
  • Qualified Advanced Care Practitioner
  • Experience in Emergency Department/Minor Injury Unit or another appropriate environment
  • Expert in triage experience in A&E (essential)
  • Experience within a Primary Care setting (desirable)
  • Experience of leading teams
  • NMC/HCPC Registration and Validation requirements
  • Phlebotomy/ cannulation training desirable
  • Knowledge of relevant Hospital Policies and Procedures

    Full time permanent: 37.5hrs per week. Open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8-6 Saturday and Sunday. Flexibility will be required to cover these times Salary: Competitive, depending on experience + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)
