Full Job Description

Due to the current post holder undertaking a secondment opportunity elsewhere in the trust, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Art Psychotherapist to join Cancer Psychological Services on a fixed term contract.
The successful applicant will join a friendly, supportive and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team that includes practitioner psychologists, art psychotherapists, psychotherapists and psychiatry. The service is well regarded both within and outside of the trust. Supervision will come from an experienced Art Psychotherapist familiar with the service and local context.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the effective day to day running of the art therapy provision within Cancer Psychological Services for both inpatients and outpatients as well as managing a Band 7 Art Psychotherapist. The provision of consultation, supervision to the wider cancer workforce and training are well established aspects of the role. Therefore, there will be an expectation the post holder travels and works across multiple Barts Health hospital sites.
The successful applicant will need to have experience of working with multidisciplinary teams and within a psycho-oncology and/ or palliative care setting. Experience of working with people in a multicultural setting is highly desirable., The service is connected with the many other psychological professionals working at Barts Health, with opportunities for funded CPD and joining a specialist psychotherapeutic supervision group (eg ACT, CFT, Narrative, EMDR, Psychotherapists working in acute settings).
