Full Job Description

The Old Kingstonian HC is a family-oriented club based in Thames Ditton and Kingston upon Thames, featuring Men's, Women's, and Junior teams for all levels and we're all about providing hockey that's enjoyable and competitive for everyone to get involved.

Our commitment is to develop and nurture junior players, ensure they have fun playing hockey, and inspire a lifelong love of the game, while making friends on and off the pitch and expect our coaches to fully support our club ethos.

Our junior section includes players from the age of four to sixteen and we are looking for motivated and inspirational coaches to lead the training for our youngest players on Sunday mornings.,

  • The coach will be expected to plan and deliver training sessions for our junior players and will be supported by parent and junior helpers.

  • Preferably, the coach will be able to support the teams on their away fixtures, as we feel this is crucial to support our players in their development.

  • Work closely with the Head of Coaching, the Junior Section Lead and the Team Managers.

  • Provide feedback to players during sessions.

  • Provide technical feedback to players during sessions., Support in the running of the sessions to ensure a high level of detail is executed at all time

  • Preferably, the coach will be able to support the teams on their away fixtures, as we feel this is crucial to support our players in their development.

  • Work closely with the Head of Coaching, the Junior Section Lead and the Team Managers.

  • Provide feedback to players during sessions.

  • Provide technical feedback to players during sessions.

    Coaching qualifications Level 2 or equivalent for lead coaches, Level 1 or equivalent (or working towards) for assistant coaches


  • - Valid Safeguarding and First Aid certificate

    - Eligible to work in the UK

    - Valid England Hockey DBS check

    - Have a good technical understanding of skill development

    - Be proactive and organized

    - Be able work as part of a team

    - Have a positive mindset

    - Have a desire to learn and grow as a coach.

    This is a remunerated position, with compensation negotiable based on experience.
