Marketplace is a key pillar of our strategy to be \'Easily the Most Convenient\' grocer, offering customers the opportunity to shop a broad range of 3rd party products, alongside their core grocery basket, seamlessly on Tesco.com. To support with building Marketplace, we are in need of a Lead Business Development Manager who will help us translate our strategy into action by recruiting and managing a set of sellers to deliver a compelling range proposition for customers and achieve our GMV targets.

You will be responsible for

  • As part of the Online Marketplace team, accountability will be focused on identifying, engaging and recruiting a compelling set of sellers to list on our Marketplace

  • Maintain a pipeline for new sellers to be recruited onto the Tesco Marketplace platform, prioritising sellers using a data driven approach that aligns with our strategy on range offer

  • Sign new sellers to the marketplace platform and work closely with them on range, merchandising and promotional strategies

  • Identify product areas for future Marketplace growth based on understanding of commercial performance and customer opportunity

  • Work with sellers to manage their accounts and ensure we achieve the commercial outcomes set out for Marketplace

  • Work alongside the Tesco Commercial colleagues to develop and implement category level strategies

  • Establish governance forums with Tesco Commercial teams and own relationships with category teams

  • Lead a small team of Business Development Managers

    Previous experience managing a team

  • Great communications skills

  • Experience managing a budget would be desirable, Disability Confident
