Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivatedBand 8a IBD Nurseto join our team and take a leadership role in the delivery of IBD the nursing service. The successful candidate will provide expert support to both inpatients and outpatients at the Royal London and Mile End Hospitals, working closely with IBD Specialist Nurses and the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to enhance patient care and access to services.

In this senior role, you will be responsible for leading the clinical management of complex IBD cases, overseeing the development of protocols, and ensuring high standards of care across the service. Key responsibilities will include telephone assessments, face-to-face clinical reviews, and leading the planning and delivery of biological therapies. You will also play a critical role in mentoring junior staff, supporting their professional development, and driving continuous improvements in IBD care within the Trust.

This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a nurse with a strong background in IBD management, who is ready to take on a leadership role within an established team. You will have the opportunity to further develop your expertise, with training, supervision, and opportunities to attend relevant study sessions provided by both nursing and medical supervisors., The post holder is responsible for leading and developing the specialist inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) nursing service, delivering a service aimed at continuously improving standards of patient care and ensuring a multi-professional approach for individuals with IBD attending hospital. As a leader in their clinical field the post holder will influence and change service provision. This will be achieved by clinical practice, education, research and audit as well as professional activities taking into account corporate and directorate objectives and within a clinical governance framework. The post holder will frame their clinical practice with professional leadership they will be expected to manage and lead the IBD nursing team providing support, and opportunities for development and guidance.
