Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to lead the development of clinical pharmacy services.,

  • To plan, deliver and develop a comprehensive and responsive clinical pharmacy service
  • To be responsible for a clinical specialist area within GOSH
  • To lead on and develop an advanced level of clinical pharmacy, in line with clinical pharmacy standards and patient needs within GOSH
  • To provide clinical pharmacy leadership
  • To chair the clinical pharmacy meeting
  • In conjunction with the deputy chief pharmacist, to develop and implement long term strategic plans to further develop the clinical pharmacy services
  • In conjunction with directorate managers and clinicians, to identify service developments and develop business cases to support the role of clinical pharmacy services within the directorates
  • To act as a resource for clinical pharmacy issues across the trust and community where appropriate
  • To ensure clinical supervision of pharmacy staff in line with departmental standards and take appropriate action to reward excellence and manage poor performance
  • In conjunction with the deputy chief pharmacist, to plan an annual programme of clinical audit
  • To uphold ethical and professional standards and to always behave in a manner that is positive and polite
  • To ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory training
  • To be accountable for own professional actions

    You will be an individual with proven experience in a hospital pharmacy setting with extensive experience in managing a clinical or directorate pharmacy team. The successful applicant will also have excellent communication skills, a commitment to patient care and performance delivery along with a strong track record of successful delivery of projects and service development experience. Experience in training and motivating staff and development of key performance indicators and standards would also be beneficial. Some paediatric experience would be advantageous though not essential.
