Full Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Cloud Architect (LCA) who will be responsible of delivering best in class services to our CSS Customers running their solutions on private and/or public cloud environments. Strong overarching cloud architecture design and implementation experience across multiple domains is required (e.g. SaaS, PaaS/Middleware, IaaS/OCI, Database, Security, AI, Multi-cloud) with the ability to lead projects through to fruition, via close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

  • Establishes trust based client relationships working closely with customer as the trusted advisor.

  • Ability to work with the customer to capture business and industry requirements and translate them into technical architectures aligned with Oracle's best practices and service delivery standards.

  • Leading CSS's highly experienced delivery teams by providing technical governance and guidance.

  • Market awareness around not only competitor's technologies, but new technologies.

  • Keen to develop into new emerging technologies and providing structured awareness to CSS teams and customer on how to adapt.

  • With extensive problem resolution skills, LCA is accountable, trustworthy and able to build lasting relationships with the team members, other Oracle teams and the customers at different levels of the reporting line up to CIO or equivalent business owner.

  • Work with the sales teams where required to assist at pre-sales level around defining scope, LoE, technical guidance and at high level technical program/project level delivery methodology.

  • Assess and analyze customers business needs to make sure that Oracle solutions meets the customer's objectives.

  • Apply industry and Oracle best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen

  • Be the Oracle Solution Delivery authority to ensure that customers make informed decisions regarding scope to achieve beneficial solutions cost effectiveness, quality and reusability.

  • Providing technical guidance on Oracle cloud and/or on-premise solutions to customer and other Oracle team members to underpin successful delivery.

  • Ensure successful handover from implementation toward operations making sure the implemented solution will fit the customer requirements in best in class operations of his environment.

  • Maintain the Oracle Solution to make sure the customer demands needs will be met. Platforms for Oracle solutions are on premise, cloud or hybrid running various workloads (application, middleware, database and infrastructure).

  • Be the main contact for new business opportunities by supporting our CSS Services Solutioning team. Identifies and promotes opportunities for sales of Oracle products and services to support business growth

  • Undertake research, investigations and developments in Oracle cloud technology in an appropriate way, and communicate the findings to the relevant interested stakeholder groups to inform business decisions.

  • Actively lead and contribute to strategic CSS programs including innovation

  • Work closely with different CSS team making implementation and operation of Mission critical environment a success.

    UK National / British Citizen - candidate must hold a UK Passport.

  • UK Resident - candidate must reside in UK.

  • UK Government Security Clearance (this role will be subject to the candidate successfully obtaining SC Security Clearance)., Minimum five years (5) of experience as a Senior/Enterprise Architect delivering enterprise solutions and/or transformation programs ideally targeting cloud technologies.

  • Enterprise Design/Architecture Framework experience such as TOGAF or similar.

  • Provide technical leadership through from sales to delivery via effective coaching and mentoring.

  • Have a positive and creative and innovative attitude around design and delivery of solutions with in the project.

  • Have an agile approach to the design and delivery, with, demonstratable experience of adapting change at Program/Project and Solution level.

  • Applicants are required to read, write, and speak fluently English. One or more of the following would be considered as a plus: Spanish, German, French.

  • Proven leadership of large and complex service solution in a large enterprise or service provider.

  • Have excellent analytical, problem solving, strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the customer organization.

  • Ability to break down complex problems/issues to determine suitability through appropriate assessments and recommendations.

  • You are keen to learn new cloud technologies.

  • Customer requirements gathering with translation of requirements to design.

  • Documentation (HLD/LLD/Architecture diagrams)

  • Ability to influence customer roadmap and lead customer workshops

  • Act as Technical Design Authority for architecture QA.


  • Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Overall good knowledge of Oracles private, hybrid and public cloud solutions

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and architecture

  • Good knowledge of physical and SDN network technologies

  • Good knowledge and experience of Oracle SaaS, PaaS, IaaS & Database services

  • Understanding of Applications landscape and SaaS Solutions

  • Good technical knowledge of relevant open source cloud technologies

  • Strong understanding of cloud security

  • Knowledge of Cloud native design solutions

  • Strong automation process and technology experience around DevOps, GitOps, AI/ML, microservices
