Full Job Description
Lead a team of Specialist Equipment Service engineers responsible for Utilities distribution systems (Steam, Water and Air) to ensure that the maintenance and operation of the systems are performed and managed safely.
- Lead the delivery of a front-line engineering service decreasing the mean time to repair of assets and enact the equipment reliability process.
- Collaborate with Reliability Engineers to deliver engineering strategic options to enable the efficient delivery of business objectives.
- Responsible for compliance with appropriate regulations, standards, policies and legal obligations. Lead the monitoring and evaluation of asset condition/plant performance to aid in the identification of plant problems and co-ordinate appropriate corrective maintenance actions.
- Provide guidance and support across the enterprise relating to piping distribution system issues.
- Manage the motivation, personal development and performance of direct reports to ensure a high performing and cohesive team.
- Consistent communication with stakeholders and visibility of team deliverables.
- Work in partnership with Operations and Engineering Reliability colleagues to drive improvements in work delivery and plant availability/reliability.
- Review and approve the maintenance strategy for assets and supports the delivery of complex maintenance activities and technical content of work packs through the Plant Engineers.
- Coach and mentor others in the engineering and maintenance community to develop future capability.
- Lead and/or support internal investigations to identify root cause and share learning from experience to ensure best practice and understanding.
- Oversee the effective organisation of work (Person Organising Work), outside of the work planning process, to allow prompt delivery of work, including implementation of smaller one-off tasks, using Plant Facing Design Organisation and the Plant Modification process., An attractive defined contribution pension scheme - the company will match up to 13.5% for a 7% employee contribution!
- You will be eligible to take part in an Annual Incentive Scheme, which provides a bonus payment up to 15% base salary per annum based on achievement of Company targets and personal performance rating as discussed with line management.

Higher level qualification or equivalent training/experience in mechanical engineering discipline - Incorporated Engineer status or potential to achieve Incorporated Engineer status with an accredited professional institute. The Ideal Candidate: Essential Skills
- Higher level qualification or equivalent training/experience in mechanical engineering or maintenance discipline
- Relevant engineering knowledge, providing depth and breadth of knowledge to act with credibility.
- Excellent people leadership skills and experience of team management. Desirable Skills
- Chartered status or potential to achieve chartered status with an appropriate accredited Institute. (Professionally registered at either IEng or CEng level or ability to achieve professional registration)
- Expertise in piping distribution systems (steam, water and air)
- Understanding of Equipment Reliability, availability and maintenance strategy
- Track record of managing and adapting to change.
