Full Job Description
Accessories is one pillar of JLR, responsible for developing the strategy, product and process to deliver outstanding accessory personalisation options for our customers. As a Project Engineer you will be based in the Accessory Engineering team responsible for a diverse group of accessories within the Exterior CoC. Commodity groups range from Exterior Trim, Roof Carrying, Functional Accessories, Exterior Protection and many more. Working with the SMEs, you will be responsible for understanding the initial requirements for a programme based on the vignette and then developing this into robust technical assumptions, eventually leading to the development and delivery of the commodities. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse commodity group, in a fast-paced environment, providing exposure to several manufacturing technologies and supplier groups. The CoC works across most JLR products, generating significant revenue and margin for the business. Self-motivated, dynamic engineers, who enjoy working on multiple commodities and programmes will be best suited for this role.,
- Liaise with Programme and Design teams in the initial development stages to develop concepts and take them through to launch
- Develop RFQ Cost Packs and support sourcing
- Generate Commodity Plans and manage suppliers
- Design, Development and Release
- Test, Validation, PSW and Launch Support
Knowledge of Digi-Buck / Vis-Mock-up / 3DLive or other CAD Visualisation systems - Knowledge of PCDS and CCDS or other Automotive Product Development Systems and Processes
- Experience of problem-solving tools and able to lead problem resolution initiatives.
- Experience in component/system delivery and development of Body and Trim systems.
- Experience with Agile Methodologies Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work.
