JLR is re-imagining itself as 'House of Brands'. We are wanting to lead and be at the forefront of product development, focussing on some of the key domains like powertrain engineering and, digitisation of our product development tool chains and methodologies.

This exciting opportunity is situated within the Charging Systems Validation & Verification domain. The Charging Group are responsible for developing the end-to-end charging system across all JLR products. This includes system design, base software development, hardware specification, sourcing and test, system integration and validation and verification.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for defining the strategic roadmap, based on benchmarking available and up-coming technologies in the field of virtual test as well as leveraging the skills and expertise across Propulsion and the wider Product Engineering and Digital Chapters, ensuring that the optimum virtual test methods are applied to the charging systems.

JLR is transitioning from traditional vehicle-based test methodologies into the digital space, creating digital twins of the systems and features of the vehicles, which is unlocking faster iteration of designs and earlier issue detection through the product development lifecycle.

XIL rigs are key to accelerate the propulsion development activities. In this role, you will act as the central testing methodology liaison for all XIL rigs, driving JLR technical strategy to front load testing as left as possible, by working closely with product engineering and rig test capability teams.

  • Develop and manage the strategic roadmap for charging systems V&V in the virtual space

  • Lead correlation testing activities between road and rig, and between physical and virtual test rigs.

  • Implement test frameworks to enable the verification of functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Responsible for ensuring test cases are linked back to requirements and standards

  • Responsible for the ensuring that the test data results are repeatable, and data is accurate

    Proficient and experienced in validation of embedded software

  • Experience in testing ASIL rated software. Knowledge of ISO26262

  • Experience using virtual test environments
