Full Job Description
- As one of our Lead Financial Crime Risk Managers at Metro Bank, you will partner with senior stakeholders and their business areas, managing their financial crime risks and ensure a robust control environment in line with the bank's risk appetite
- Work alongside our senior leadership team to ensure the proactive identification, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of Metro Bank's financial crime risks
- Be a key driver in the implementation of a robust 1st Line of Defence (LoD) Financial Crime risk and control framework, aligned to the banks policy, standards and set risk appetite
- Proactively partner with your business area to ensure management of their financial crime risks, supporting risk insight and opinion on risk profile relating to anti-money laundering, sanctions, and fraud, but also areas falling under increasing regulatory scrutiny such as anti-tax evasion, anti-corruption/bribery, and the slavery act
- Provide Financial Crime risk advice and guidance to the business to make sure financial crime threats and risks are documented alongside a robust control framework
- Facilitate and lead financial crime risk review and assurance work to ensure that the systems, controls and processes comply with policy to mitigate any risks
- Closely collaborate with the 2nd LoD Financial Crime Policy Team to help translate policies and standards into workable systems, processes and training
- Report financial crime risk performance through various first- and second-line governance committees, We are also all about balance so most of our jobs offer the opportunity for hybrid working built around your role and home life, wherever possible - in this role you will work hybrid and you'll be in our Holborn office about once per week
Extensive leadership experience in financial services within a financial crime role (1^st or 2^nd LoD), with a good understanding of banking products, processes, risk management frameworks and non-financial risks and supporting controls - A good understanding of digital banking and product management
- Experience business partnering with senior stakeholders to implement and facilitate risk management processes, with an ability to present and influence
- Applied Financial Crime experience and knowledge of risk management frameworks and processes including RCSA, IUMs, Thematic Risk Reviews and risk reporting to risk governance committees, with a good understanding of the regulatory environment relating to Financial Crime compliance
- Experienced in using expert judgement to make risk-based decisions
- Ability to define and assess compliance against risk policy and standards, with experience in planning, leading and facilitating risk assessments and deep dive reviews
- Ability to design and operate a fit for purpose risk processes and ongoing improvements that satisfies the requirements of day-to-day risk management and governance
- Ideally some experience in banking products and digital banking
- Very strong relationship and stakeholder management skills at a senior level, to provide constructive debate and challenge
- Experience communicating risk insight and opinions with colleagues across a business, as well experience in risk reporting, MI & presentations
