Are you excited by the opportunity to lead the further development of psychological services in our Children & Families Care Group to ensure they are at the forefront of practice and effective in their delivery?

We have a diverse portfolio of services which includes specialist mental health services for children and young people and perinatal and maternal mental health services. You will provide leadership of psychological practice across the Care Group, in accordance with Trust values, ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient, innovative and high quality services for patients and their families/carers.
As Professional Lead you will agree objectives for delivery in conjunction with the Care Group Clinical Care Director and the Trust-wide Director of Psychological Services, taking into account service priorities and the time available to effectively deliver the role.
Psychological professionals are well regarded within the Trust and seen as relatable, collaborative and valuable to developing quality services. You will be supported by the Director of Psychological Services and the Trust-wide group of Psychological Leads.

https://vimeo.com/985770854/aba35fe7d9?share=copy, This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of Psychological practice across services delivered within the Care Group This is achieved through providing excellent professional leadership to those staff delivering psychological services and interventions as part of their roles, supporting the development of high quality clinical governance and highest standards of psychological care.
It is important that both internal and external perspectives are reflected both into the Care Group and organisation and there is an expectation that the role will forge external links beyond the Care Group and organisation. The role will also work closely with the Director of Psychological Services for MPFT to ensure that the organisational strategic direction is supported by the Care Group.
The post-holder will contribute to clinical service discussions at a clinical consultant level within Children and Families Services (which is inclusive of perinatal services). 'the professional lead element of this role is 0.6WTE, for people looking for full time or more hours we can work with the successful candidate to identify clinical hours within our range of services depending on the expertise and knowledge of the candidate. This could be in perinatal mental health, Children and Adolescent Mental health or in Neurodevelopmental services (CYP Autism/ADHD)

+ · Provide high level clinical expertise for clinicians delivering psychological services across the Care Group
+ · Lead on service development specifically related to psychological services and practice, including the implementation of national and local strategies and policies.
+ · Support effective workforce planning for psychological services and practice, including succession planning and training and development planning to ensure the workforce has the necessary skills and knowledge to meet changing service needs and Care Group business plans.
+ · Work with the Care Group Leadership team and operational managers to identify new business opportunities and support the development of new service models for the delivery of new business relevant to psychological practice.
+ · Advise operational managers regarding the utilisation of existing resources and planning of future resources, in terms of workforce and specialist tools/equipment in relation to the delivery of psychological practice.
+ · Provide a high level of clinical expertise across the field of psychological services, by providing both general and specialist advice for clinicians within the Care Group providing psychological interventions, on the full range of relevant issues including psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
+ · Ensure that psychological services and practice is safe and effective and delivered in accordance with evidenced based standards, recognised good practice e.g. NICE guidance and professional standards for psychological therapies.
+ · Establish structures within the team to ensure the effective clinical supervision of staff delivering psychological interventions or approaches across the Care Group, with the support of Operational Managers.
