As part of the Communities Wellbeing Team, you will be key in delivering the ambitions within the Wellbeing Public Health and Communities strategy by working to create the conditions to enable our communities to thrive and become active partners in addressing health and wellbeing inequalities.

The role will be responsible for delivering and managing a range of interventions with our communities, so strong relationship management and organisational skills are essential, as is experience of working with voluntary and community sector partners, and communities.

The role will support and lead on a range of large and small projects and activities as well as maintaining business as usual activity and supporting an agile approach to resourcing.

As we embark on the next phase of our 5-year Business Plan, the Wellbeing, Public Health, and Communities Team is seeking passionate individuals to join us. Here's what's on the horizon, The role will involve some complexity in working to support several specific agendas and support Senior Managers on any number and combination of thematic programmes and projects dependant on strategic priorities. Flexibility, being task driven, and the ability to effectively collaborate are all important facets of this role.,

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent by experience with a demonstrable background in public health and/or communities.

  • Demonstrable evidence of building strong networks within a political environment, working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, influencing partners, and managing change within a multi-stakeholder environment.

  • Organised, with a proven track record of managing and delivering projects successfully and on budget, whilst demonstrating breadth of thinking.

  • Experience of Asset Based Community Development, working with voluntary and community sector partners, and communities, to deliver public health or related outcomes.


  • Desirable
  • Experience of service design, developing new innovative solutions to societal challenges.

  • Previous experience of community funding.

  • Experience of commissioning community interventions from design through to monitoring and evaluation of commissioned services.


  • Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
