Full Job Description

The Credit Card platform is based in our Chester, Cawley House site along with the wider Credit Card business. We are responsible for all credit card specific customer and colleague experiences, underlying technology products, supporting processes and associated transformational change.

Our team is multi-disciplined and uses agile methodologies across its portfolio of change to maximise delivery efficiency and continuous optimisation opportunities.

Every day brings with it a new set of opportunities and challenges given the fast pace of the Cards Platform and wider Credit Cards business. The team is at the start of an exciting and challenging multi-year transformation journey supported by significant investment.

Typically, within this role the following 5 tasks or skills will be required day to day:

People and Team Management

With up to 15 Direct Reports to manage the ability to lead others is critical - providing clarity of direction, challenge to ensure individuals and the team are striving for high performance whilst providing on the job coaching, feedback and setting a caring, people focussed culture.

Understanding team capacity is critical to develop a regular view of the flow of work through the team. Supporting with any escalated blockers, issues, risks or issues.

Ideation

Lead Integrators spend much of their time collaborating with Customer Journey Managers, Product Owners, Product Managers and other key stakeholders to work on future priorities and roadmaps. Curating a well-defined backlog ( 6m+) of future work for the team is a critical part of supporting how change is delivered in this role. Lead Integrators alongside Product Owners need to have maintain a 360 perspective, understanding the needs of both customers and business.

Planning

A critical aspect of being a Lead Integrator is planning. Whether that is breaking down the work into a common hierarchy "Epics", "Features" and "Stories" alongside the Team Product Owner, or managing the backlog to understand where there may be competing priorities or activities that will require support from a team or multiple teams outside of the Cards Lab. This means a big part of the role centres around the management of dependencies with other teams.

Lead Integrators will typically have multiple work items in flight at any one time and require the ability to think on their feet and react to changing conditions quickly, flexibly and without impacting customer and colleague outcomes. This role therefore involves managing a portfolio of work items.

The Lead Integrators are typically the immediate escalation point for the team, so some days can be all about unblocking impediments, working through challenging situations to find agreeable solutions. Sometimes its about managing conflict, taking the heat out of an escalation and finding a compromise position. Strong communication combined with the ability to make timely and considered decisions is in play here.
