Full Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced Cardiac Physiologist / Healthcare Scientist to operationally lead our invasive physiology team.
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to build upon recent successes and develop an outstanding invasive physiology service for the future.
We are looking for a candidate that in additional to operationally leading the team has a passion to drive forward quality and training within the service.
The successful candidate would work closely with the Lead clinical Scientist/Physiologist in CRM and EP and also the wider management team within DCU and SYRS directorate.
The ideal candidate would be a Cardiac Physiologist / Healthcare Scientists) with the BHRS / IBHRE accreditation in cardiac devices or electrophysiology and possess either a BSc in Clinical Physiology, MSc Clinical Science (Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory and Sleep Sciences) or BTEC / HNC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements and holds RCCP / AHCS / HCPC registration., · Accountable for the day-to-day operational and service delivery of the Invasive Cardiac Physiology Service
· To provide operational leadership for the Invasive Cardiac Physiology Service, working closely with the DCU management team
· Provide a key role in developing a Quality system throughout the invasive department
· To lead on the accreditation processes within the Invasive team
· Work closely with DCU Education & Training lead to implement, structure and monitor training within the Invasive team. Organise training sessions and plan course attendance for the Invasive Team through the year according to each staff skill mix and required knowledge development
· Supporting the development and delivery of service strategy and ensuring appropriate risk management processes are in place to deliver a safe, high quality, patient-centred service.
· Provide solutions and advice to staff in response to pressures that may affect quality and throughput.
· Support the Head of Cardiac Physiology and DCU Service Manager with the responsibility for the delivery of key performance targets in line with local and national agreements.
· Perform clinical duties within the Invasive Cardiac Physiology Service (50:50 split non-clinical v clinical)
· Provide line management responsibilities to the invasive physiology team

Working for our organisation
The Diagnostic Cardiology Unit provides an extensive range of non-invasive, invasive and specialist cardiac investigation to the South Yorkshire region.
The investigation provided by the department include
· 12 Lead ECG
· Ambulatory ECG Monitoring
· Ambulatory Blood Pressure
· Tilt Table Testing
· Signal Average ECG
· Exercise Tolerance Testing
· Simplex and complex cardiac device follow up including CRT optimisation and His Bundle Pacing
· Physiologist led ILR implantation and extraction
· Trans-thoracic Echocardiography including 3 Dimensional assessment, Valve assessment, Stress and Congenital heart disease.
· Tran-oesophageal Echocardiography including 3 Dimensional assessment
· Cardiac catheter Laboratory support for:-
o Left and Right Heart Catheterisation including PCI / PPCI, FFR, IVUS, PVR, IABP
o TAVI
o Simplex and Complex device implantation
o Cardiac Device Extraction
o Simple and Complex electrophysiology procedures including SVT, AT, VT, 3D Mapping
