Lead Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Cold Room/Freezers -22degrees, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), No eye contacts allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Rapid flashing lights, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Various outside weather conditions, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials, Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Lead Manufacturing Engineering Technician and be at the forefront of innovation in a collaborative, world-class environment. • Address reactive breakdowns and perform critical equipment calibrations.
• Maintain and lead facility supporting equipment, including Air Handling Units (AHU), Cochran Steam Boilers, and Chiller plant equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance schedules with precision.
• Accurately complete and document work orders for traceability.
• Allocate spare parts and coordinate with the Parts Control Specialist to ensure coverage for breakdowns and maintenance.
• Enter maintenance tasks into our computer maintenance management system (CMMS) using IBM Maximo (training provided).
• Coordinate and manage external contractors, including reviewing training documents and Risk Assessment/Method Statements (RAMS).
  
  Mechanical or electrical/electronic experience, supported by an NVQ level 3 apprenticeship and relevant workplace experience - essential
• Experience with Alan Bradley PLC, including fault diagnosis, is advantageous.
• Proven experience with Cochran Steam Boilers and HVAC/Chiller systems.
• Consistent alignment with planned preventative maintenance timelines.
• Understanding of EHS regulations related to maintenance activities.
• Good understanding of GMP compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills for collaboration across multiple departments.
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated.
• Ability to prioritize engineering decisions to ensure minimal downtime and smooth operations.
