Full Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic midwife with a passion and experience within the triage setting as Lead Midwife for Triage (Band 7). The successful applicant will support and develop changes within the Triage setting in particular the oversight of BSOTS and triage. The role will be supported to develop leadership skills and responsible for delivering safe, efficient and high quality service that is woman focused and meets the needs of the individual. This is full time post cross site but we will consider job share for Ipswich Hospital and for Colchester Hospital. Main duties of the job Youwill be responsible for the day to day running of Maternity Triage. You have continuing responsibility for the assessment, implementation and evaluation of programs of care, ensuring that safe standards of care are maintained and for the smooth day to day running of the ward within the allocated resources. The role encompasses liaison with other agencies and the management, teaching, support and empowerment of junior and newly qualified midwives and healthcare assistants. You will also take 'Bleep Holding' responsibility on a rotational basis with other colleagues, ensuring safe staffing and safe standards of care within allocated resources. - Registered Midwife
- Degree in Midwifery Practice
- Meets with the requirements of PREP.
- Has completed the Mentorship course and is a current sign off mentor, Proven post registration experiences as clinical midwife.
- Evidence of advanced decision making skills.
- Knowledge of NMC Handbook of midwives Rules, Code of Professional Conduct, Scope of Professional Practice and its application to clinical practice.
