Lead Nurse

To provide dynamic leadership and support to the Demelza Nursing and Care Team, developing and leading the provision of high-quality services to ensure safe, effective nursing care is delivered to children, young people and their families., To manage the day to day aspects of the Demelza Service ensuring compliance with the Care Quality Commission CQC regulations. To work towards and take on the role of Registered Manager. The principal aim of the Lead Nurse, is to facilitate delivery of safe, effective nursing care to children and young people who require palliative and end of life care. This will be achieved through: Overseeing the delivery of direct nursing care, ensuring good use of resources and facilities available. Assisting the Deputy Director of Nursing and Care and Director of Clinical Services in advising the organisation in its overall strategic direction to accommodate all relevant paediatric palliative care initiatives and national health care agendas, whilst fulfilling the objectives of the charity. Safeguarding all children and young people accessing services; by responding to concerns raised in a timely and appropriate manner and effectively escalating these in accordance with policies and procedures.
