Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic lead nurse to join our Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS) currently based at Crawley Down in West Sussex. This is a 2 day a week role on a substantive contract. You will be joining a service of highly skilled and experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychology and Assistant Psychologists, Nurses, Dietitian, Support Workers and Occupational Therapists. Our team is responsible for covering all of Sussex. We offer and support hybrid and flexible working, we require staff to be on site for 60% of their working week.Main duties of the job The successful candidate would be responsible to provide professional and clinical nursing leadership across the service. To provide expert nursing advice to patients, their families/carers and staff. To develop and deliver specialist training, education and development opportunities for nursing staff and as agreed, others. To lead within the service on promoting clinical innovation and delivering continual development of nursing practice based upon evidence and relevant research. To ensure excellence in nursing practice and that service delivery is based on NICE guidelines and other relevant documents and guidance. To act as service lead alongside the Service Manager and Lead Clinician of the Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service.

To be a successful Lead Nurse in our team you will be:

  • Professionally registered as a Mental Health Nurse within NMC
  • Able to undertake project management, audit and service evaluation to develop the service, keeping in mind the wider system
  • Have experience of working in Eating Disorders
  • Have experience of providing supervision
  • You must be able to demonstrate a caring, compassionate and non-judgmental attitude, and show a commitment to making a difference when supporting young people and their families on their recovery journeys,
  • Recognised professional qualification in mental health nursing RMN or equivalent, Significant experience of practice in CHYPS setting at B7 or above
  • Experience of service development
  • Significant experience of teaching / training, Up to date clinical knowledge and skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
