Are you a dynamic and passionate Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) professional seeking a leadership role that will challenge and inspire you? Do you have the drive and dedication to make a real impact on patient safety and quality? If so, we invite you to join our Infection Control team as the Public Health Wales Corporate/Screening IPC Lead Nurse., As the Corporate/Screening IPC Lead Nurse you will play a crucial role in leading Infection Prevention Control initiatives and ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention across our corporate and screening services. You will support the head of nursing for IPC HARP in providing strategic direction and driving continuous improvement in IPC practices.
The aim of the service is to provide ongoing an IPC programme to reduce the risk of health care associated infection and so contributing to the quality-of-service user/patient care and service delivery, the Corporate/Screening IPC Lead Nurse role will be integral to the delivery of the IPC programme working alongside the rest of the team and the wider Public Health and NHS in Wales.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top-up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed., To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa, unless you have permission to work via another route. The salary scale shown is for a full-time member of staff, with the amount being adjusted pro rata for those working less than 37.5 hours per week.
In general, anyone joining our Trust who has not previously worked in the NHS will, by default, start on the first point of the advertised pay band. Pay progression will then be determined by annual Performance and Development Reviews in accordance with the NHS Wales Pay Progression Policy. An application for Incremental Credit may be considered, but can only be awarded based on evidenced, reckonable service and/or equivalent, relevant experience.
