We have a fantastic opportunity in our delivery team for an experienced and dynamic full time Lead Outdoor Learning Instructor. You will be playing a key role supporting our Senior Outdoor Learning Instructor in supervising the day-to-day programme and staff, ensuring that our visitors receive high quality outdoor learning experiences. This role will be required to supervise staff and resources; leading in the delivery of activities, ensuring safe practice and high-quality standards at the centre are maintained on a day-to-day basis, and ensuring effective programme delivery. The role will influence the quality of our services by inspiring and motivating the team through training, support and performance management. • Holder of RYA Senior Instructor (S.I.) or Dinghy Instructor aspiring to be S.I.
• A comprehensive understanding and experience of outdoor learning in a range of settings
• Relevant National Governing Body (NGB) Qualifications
• Experience of maintaining NGB recognition and health and safety guidelines
• Experience of managing / leading a small team
• Ability to deal with complex logistics and customer requirements in a calm and professional approach
• Positive and solution focussed

  This role has a starting salary of £29,697 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring a new Lead Outdoor Learning Instructor to join Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development (SOLD). This is a full time, year round role, working across all of SOLD centres, with a primary base at Thames Young Mariners, Ham, near Richmond in Surrey. This role commences in January 2025.
