Full Job Description

As a Lead P6 Planner, your role will be pivotal in guiding the development and execution of substation construction schemes, utilising your expertise throughout both the pre-construction and construction phases. Your ability to navigate project complexities will be essential in delivering high-quality results.

You will be responsible for comprehensive project planning, which includes schedule development, baselining, progress measurement, maintenance, and analysis for both internal and external stakeholders. Leading a team of planners, you will ensure that all schedules comply with company planning procedures, while also maintaining safe working practices.

Here as some of the activities you will be involved in:

  • Collaborate with the commercial team and construction managers to establish, update, and maintain project schedules.

  • Liaise with Clancy, client teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on planning matters.

  • Assess resource needs based on programme workloads, providing regular reports to management.

  • Prepare programme and progress reports, attending planning and operational meetings.

  • Develop and maintain master execution schedules and major work package schedules.

  • Produce baseline schedules and obtain stakeholder approvals.

  • Communicate project priorities to management, engineering, and other functions.

  • Integrate subcontractor schedules, ensuring project compliance.

  • Implement progress measurement and reporting systems.

  • Develop project presentations and reports.

  • Analyse critical and sub-critical project paths.

  • Mentor and coach the planning team.

  • Are you a Lead P6 Planner with experience working with or for a distribution network operator?

    Would you be interested in joining an innovative team committed to achieving net-zero power delivery to homes and businesses?, Previous senior or lead planning experience is required, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent organisational skills, and ensure tasks are completed correctly the first time, adhering to project protocols.

    Experience in developing schemes from pre-construction to construction with or for a DNO is essential, along with knowledge of NEC 3 contracts. As is commercial awareness and understanding the financial impact of site-based activities are essential.

    You have extensive skills in Primavera P6, planning assurance, and reviewing construction project programmes. Experience with major contractors is beneficial.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to build trust within the project team and thrive under pressure.

    An understanding NRWSA regulations is advantageous.

    A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites are essential.
