Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacist with a passion for high quality patient care to support the provision, development and evaluation of our Cardiovascular and Thoracic (CVT) services. The successful candidate will work to ensure the continued provision and development of high quality, comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients as well as influence senior managers and clinicians within the CVT directorate. We will provide the successful candidate with a comprehensive induction covering all aspects of Trust work, support from senior pharmacy staff and an environment to develop further.

The Pharmacy Service at St George's is highly regarded across the Trust and South West London region, with around 270 staff members working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. The department is innovative, dynamic, forward thinking and constantly expanding. We are proud of the clinical pharmacy services we deliver and our patients are at the centre of everything we do., o Act as the Lead Pharmacist for CVT directorates including non-medical prescribing services to pre-op clinics.o Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist and represent the team within the organisation and across interface boundaries.o Work as an expert pharmacist for CVT services, contributing to advanced decision making.o In conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist, manage and implement services designed to improve the pharmaceutical care to patients and extend the boundaries of clinical practice.o Identify, support and participate in financial reporting and drug budget management within the relevant directorate.o Progress service improvement initiatives through multi-disciplinary working to ensure safe and timely provision of medicines.o To participate in service metric collection, clinical audit, research, risk management and clinical guideline development.
