Full Job Description
Based at our Prestwich site, you will lead our Adult Forensic Service pharmacy team in providing high quality pharmaceutical care to our inpatient and community patientsand help shape and drive patient care and innovation across the Adult Forensic Service
You will support the delivery of clinical pharmacy service provision across hospital and community adult forensic services ensuring that clinical service provision is optimised. You will ideally have postgraduate qualifications or experience in mental health therapeutics.
It is expected that the successful applicant will be an experienced clinical pharmacist with a substantial track record of providing or supporting service transformation.
Main duties of the job
To develop and co-ordinate clinical pharmacy services within the Adult Forensic Service.
To act as an expert source of pharmaceutical advice for healthcare staff, service users and carers.
To liaise with external agencies on admission and discharge to ensure effective transfer of prescribing and monitoring of medication
To ensure that medicines policies and guidelines reflect the needs of the Adult Forensic Service.
To develop and implement policies, guidelines and protocols relevant to the Adult Forensic Service.
To ensure prescribing is cost-effective and in line with national and local policies.
To participate in the training of junior pharmacists and Trainee Pharmacists
To act as pharmacist Non-Medical Prescriber for clinical teams at AFS
To act as Designated Prescriber for Pharmacists and Trainee Pharmacists undergoing the Non-Medical Prescribing Course.
