You will be responsible for all aspects of the professional management of the technical services section of the pharmacy, including clinical input into prescribing and administration of chemotherapy, in order to provide a high-quality efficient pharmacy services to our patients and service users.

You will lead by example in the specialisms of oncology, haematology and palliative care to ensure that a consistently high standard of care is delivered to these patients and other clinical areas which use technical services products in collaboration with the relevant multidisciplinary team., The Lead Pharmacist - Oncology, Haematology, Palliative Care and Technical Services has responsibility for the pharmacy input into the Oncology, Haematology, Palliative Care teams and other users of the products from the technical services section, including the supply of clinical trial products.

The clinical activities focus on providing pharmaceutical care to oncology, haematology, palliative care in-patients and day cases, optimising medicines use through safe prescribing and effective monitoring.

You will be the Accountable Pharmacist for Technical Services, providing professional support to the Lead Pharmacy Technician for Technical Services and the Pharmacy Technician for Quality Assurance when required. You will also be the Pharmacy Lead for Intrathecal Chemotherapy.

The post holder is responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing the preparation and verification of treatment protocols and the on-going review of treatment regimens on the electronic prescribing system.
