An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and motivated senior pharmacist to come and join our rather wonderful and established pharmacy homecare team at University Hospitals Dorset
The person we are looking for will have great clinical, organisational and leadership skills with a drive and passion for great patient care. This role will have key responsibilities in shaping and developing our homecare service working in partnership with clinicians and service leads. Developing effective networks and relationships across the trust is key to this role while maintaining a focus on best patient care.
The trust uses homecare services across a wide range of specialties including Cancer care, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Neurology and Cardiac medicines. This role provides great variety across specialities and no two days will be the same. We currently support 4,500 patients taking their medication at home and have ambitious plans to expand and grow the service.
This role will enable you to rapidly develop your clinical skills and become a subject matter expert across multiple clinical specialities., As the pharmacist lead for homecare, you will have the support from an established homecare team including experienced pharmacy technicians and dedicated administrative support. You will be responsible for the homecare pharmacy service, providing clinical advice and support to trust wide services and our patients.
This role provides great variety and would suit a clinical pharmacist wishing to rapidly develop both clinical and leadership skills. Previous postholders have moved on to become Consultant Pharmacists or part of the top pharmacy leadership team.
Our Pharmacy department is a welcoming and innovative team that prioritises patient care and patient safety. We have a strong emphasis on teamwork, partnerships with other professions and working as a one Dorset system.
Our pharmacy departments are fully automated with new robotic systems. We embrace paperless working, and all areas have electronic records and prescribing. We have an established leadership team who have coached and mentored numerous aspiring leaders. We provide fully funded post graduate training and are a local centre of excellence for pharmacy training.
In conjunction with all our pharmacists this role will include working 1 day every 5 weeks on a weekend and one late night (5-6pm) per week.
Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital (you will be required to work across site)
