Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the pharmacy team for a dynamic and motivated individual to join the pharmacy department at St Georges University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The individual will join the pharmacy operational team who are is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and safe and effective delivery of medicines for the Trust.The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the strategic delivery and management of the outsourced and homecare services for the trust and ensuring that patients' care is at the forefront of decision making. You will also be responsible for managing and overseeing the drug expenditure for homecare medicines and working closely with the trusts clinical commissioning pharmacist to deliver cost effective use of medicines.The post holder must have good operational, clinical and leadership skills with a demonstratable record of delivering high quality service and support. You will need good communication skills and experience
working as part of a multidisciplinary team. We welcome interest from pharmacist from all backgrounds as part of our drive to build a culturally competent and diverse department.

Main duties of the job

o Lead the strategic development of pharmacy medicines homecare services to the trust and external customers (where relevant) to meet local, regional and nationally agreed requirements and priorities.

o Delivery of an effective, efficient and high quality medicines homecare service in line with all professional and regulatory standards, for St Georges University NHS Foundation Trust and other relevant customers.

o Build and maintain proactive strategic relationships with all stakeholders including suppliers, other appropriate NHS providers, commissioner colleagues and other NHS bodies such as NHS England.

o Train and develop the team to deliver an expert, high quality, effective stakeholder-focused service to all areas of responsibility.

o Support, promote and facilitate medicines optimisation in the context of high cost medicines (HCM) ensuring best value, reduced harm and improved outcomes from the significant investment in medicines

o Work collaboratively with regional teams, multidisciplinary teams and clinical leads for the relevant specialties to develop and implement initiatives and guidelines to ensure the appropriate, safe and cost-effective use of HCMs
