Lead Pharmacist - Medicine

Are you currently a band 8A hospital pharmacist looking to develop your career in medicine or a band 7 considering a step up? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with an appropriate level of knowledge and skills to join the team of five lead pharmacists responsible for the Pharmacy service to the Medical Division. The post holder would have the opportunity to specialise and lead their own area within medicine.

+ We offer a full range of acute and complex services at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, where we are the nearest trauma unit to Gatwick Airport.
+ We provide a range of outpatient, diagnostic and less complex planned services at The Earlswood Centre, Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey, and at Crawley and Horsham Hospitals in West Sussex.

Our department has over 100 staff of which half are pharmacists, 18 of whom are band 8As.

The pharmacy department works closely with Health Education England to deliver the foundation pharmacist training programme, as well as the Universities of Brighton and Medway. Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band when they start with the Trust (unless they have previous relevant NHS continuous service), thereafter individuals will progress up the pay steps in accordance with NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) terms and conditions. For part time roles you will receive a pro rata'd (proportional) salary payment based on the appropriate pay step/point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical and dental terms and conditions.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operate a 24 hour 365 day a year service and all nursing, clinical and operational roles will require staff to work 24/7 shifts (if required) unless you are specifically advised otherwise as part of the recruitment process.
