Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our compassionate, inclusive, and values-driven organisation. As a valued member of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and as part of our Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Team.

This leadership post will be responsible for providing medicines optimisation professional expertise to the ICB and member practices.

The postholder will provide expert knowledge relating to medicines optimisation and lead the department's medicines value and medicines transformation project team. The postholder will also support the Head of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation to implement and deliver the Medicines Optimisation Strategy for the ICB, deputising for the Head of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation, as necessary., The postholder is responsible for providing medicines optimisation professional expertise to the ICB and member practices.

- The postholder will provide expert knowledge relating to medicines optimisation and lead the department's medicines value and medicines transformation project team, leading on the development and oversight of ICB medicines value projects to support the delivery of the medicines optimisation priorities for the system.

- The postholder will support the Head of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation to implement and deliver the Medicines Optimisation Strategy for the ICB, deputising for them, as necessary.

- The postholder will define current processes, facilitate discussions and advise colleagues across the ICB, primary and secondary care and other commissioned providers as to how best practice in medicines use might be adopted in the definition of future processes, documenting those processes as they are agreed and overseeing their delivery.

- The postholder will be responsible for multi-disciplinary working across the ICB and with commissioned providers in order to ensure a clinical quality and safety approach to medicines optimisation.

- The postholder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.

Our Integrated Care System (ICS) footprint covers a large geographical area of 1,347 square miles and covers a population of around 500,000 people across the area of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. The ICS area is served by two nitary authorities, Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin Council.
