Full Job Description

We're looking for a Lead Clinical Pharmacist in Oncology & Haematology Services to join our Pharmacy Team at the London Bridge Hospital, currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC.

London Bridge Hospital is one of the UK's largest private healthcare hospitals specialising in complex and acute care. Spread over three main buildings and five outpatient centres, it is home to a number of specialist units and teams across a wide range of disciplines including orthopaedic, spinal, digestive diseases, liver, hepatobiliary, renal, cardiothoracic, critical care, cancer and transplant services.

The post-holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, safe and effective pharmacy service within London Bridge Hospital at the Guy's Cancer Centre. They will provide leadership for the Pharmacy service at Guy's which includes dispensary services, aseptic production, inpatient and outpatient services for oncology, haematology and surgical services .

Your day-to-day work will include a combination of reviewing patients in our chemotherapy day unit and providing a clinical pharmacy service on our Haematology/Oncology Ward (including reviewing our transplant patients and complex haematology patients). You will liaise directly with Consultants, providing advice and overseeing governance surrounding the prescribing of SACT. You will also work closely with CNSs, Resident Doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a full holistic 5 star patient experience.,

  • As a key member of the Pharmacy Senior Management Team, you will help develop and contribute towards the department objectives and assist with operational and governance matters. The post-holder will maintain and develop the highest standards of patient-focused care, supporting safe and effective use of medicines. You will be encouraged to use a growth mindset alongside your experience to proactively move the service forwards.

  • The post-holder will line manage members of the Pharmacy team. You will work with other multidisciplinary team colleagues in a range of quality/process improvement project groups.

  • The post holder will work closely with the Deputy Pharmacy Manager for the London Bridge Hospital Campus. This includes representing the pharmacy both within the hospital campus, corporately and externally.

    Post graduate diploma/masters in clinical pharmacy or equivalent

  • Specialist knowledge in oncology, aseptic production and in haematology is essential

  • Extensive experience in the above areas

  • Experience working within a hospital setting

  • Previous management experience is essential

    Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

  • Shift times: 9am-5.30pm with on-call and weekend requirements
