Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the Stores, Distribution and Procurement team within Pharmacy Kingsway Hospital, Derby., Responsible for efficient, economic and safe procurement of medicines,

Act as an EMIS hospital pharmacy administrator, with specific responsibility for managing the maintenance of the drug catalogue and stock taking. Acess Rx info Exend database for contract claims and procurement data.

Manage the department stock control system and ensure two rolling stock takes are completed each financial year.

Day to day supervision of the SDP team, ensuring all staff are trained and assessed to order, receive andsupply stock medicines safely and efficiently in line with procedures.

Manage the day-to-day co-ordination of the stock top up and stock audit visits to south wards and community mental health bases/teams.

Manage the day to day co-ordination of the replenishment of pharmacy resuscitation boxes to DHCFT inpatient wards, HUB and ECT. Ensure staff are trained and assessed to restock and check resuscitation boxes.

Monitor to follow items on a daily basis, ensure team check and follow up with the supplier.

Carry out Accuracy checking of prescribed medicines on a regular basis.Participate when required to support the operational service including Clozapine and Clinical trials in line with department rotas.

Participate in ward pharmacy technician medicines management to an allocated ward within the trust.

Deputises for the Pharmacy Operational Manager when required.

The successful candidate will be self motivated with excellent communication skills and time management., They will be able to lead the team on a day to day basis ensuring a safe supply of medicines to patients within the trust.

Previous experience of hospital procurement is desirable.
