Full Job Description

Reporting into the Production leadership team in the role Lead Production Planner you will be responsible for coordinating the wide-ranging requirements of Production Demand and aircraft Bill of Materials to ensure the delivery of components for the assembly of aircraft to plan for all programmes.

You will create and maintain a "single source of truth" used by the Inventory and Logistics team to direct picking and line side supply for and associated logistics.

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as the specialist internally in the manufacturing processes within Callen-Lenz.

  • Be a key decision maker in the Make/Buy decision for urgent/time constrained components and assemblies.

  • Take ownership of manufacturing demand planning and assemblies produced within the business.

  • Coordinate closely with the Procurement team to ensure deliveries of bought items are in locked step with the production plan.

  • Work closely with the project management team and the UAV assembly team leaders, to integrate the production plans for all programmes against the available resource, ensuring that programme schedules are met and maintained.

  • Learn and maintain a clear understanding of the processes which define configuration control.

  • React in a timely manner to support the implantation of engineering design change and coordinate the change of BoM and trials aircraft.

  • Monitor production progress and troubleshoot any issues that may arise, adjusting schedules where necessary.

  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations to effectively communicate performance and pit falls within production and report back to the relevant stakeholders.

    Qualifications: Degree level educated, with Engineering or technical subjects being of advantage.


  • Skills:

    Essential:

  • Previous experience in a Planning role, ideally in a manufacturing

  • BOM (Bill of Materials) experience

  • Experience of utilising and implementing configuration control

  • Demonstrable experience of proactive planning

  • Proficiency in I.T. applications- Microsoft Apps, Excel in particular


  • Desirable:

  • Experience in an aerospace/ aviation environment

  • Experienced in leadership/ line management, Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK

  • Ability to commit to national and international travel

  • Team player who is capable of working autonomously

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • A proactive approach
