Full Job Description

The experienced research nurse will work as a self-directed practitioner, with a key role to play in the organisation and management of clinical trials within the Trust. The post holder will support more junior members of the research team, assisting them to develop their clinical research skills thorough education and training.,

  • Liaise with the Head of Research regarding AHP/Nursing input into research activities and for the delivery of approved clinical research studies across the Trust.
  • Work with both internal and external partners as well as other strategic stakeholders to develop relationships and partnerships that increase capacity for and engagement in community- based research
  • Take responsibility for the identification of clinical trials appropriate for our services, the facilitation and management of these trials, and the ongoing care of patients and participants
  • Ensure that research participants receive their treatment in accordance with approved research protocols and the regulatory framework.
  • Support the Trusts' Head of Research and the specialty clinical leads, in identifying and overcoming potential blocks to the successful delivery of clinical research
  • Provide professional support and leadership for the research team
  • Liaise with other clinical departments, support departments and external partners to ensure the successful local delivery of the project.
  • Work as a self-directed practitioner, working closely with the research and clinical teams to manage the care of patients and increase participation in research.

    We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who is willing to lead and support the delivery of high quality and safe research within the Trust. Knowledge of clinical research, informed consent, research governance is essential, including the ability to adapt to the challenges of delivering research in a community setting. As well as working with our clinical teams, we have thriving research collaborations with a range of community groups, including schools, charities and other community organisations., We are looking for someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills whilst possessing an eye for detail. The ability to work well within a team, as well as the ability to work independently is an essential aspect to this role. For this post, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.
