Full Job Description

Salesforce is one of the key technologies that Capital Economics leverages, and we are seeking to hire a new permanent member of staff to support the ongoing expansion of Sales Cloud, CPQ and Marketing Cloud within the business. The new staff member will be responsible for leading numerous expansion and integration projects on Salesforce as well as owning the operational support function for the Salesforce platforms. Key areas of contribution and delivery include:

  • Building strong working relationships with internal team members, external stakeholders, and departmental peers (Director of Technology, Product Managers, Sales Operations Team, Senior Salesforce Admin, CMS Developers, etc)
  • Manage the Salesforce administration team.
  • Manage the relationship with external Salesforce suppliers.
  • Advise and lead on Salesforce security best practice and data compliance on all areas that the team works on.
  • Comply and contribute to company standards, processes and procedures.
  • Lead the design of the target Salesforce architecture.
  • Perform initial Salesforce project engagement and requirements scoping.
  • Create and maintain supporting documentation, ensuring that processes/standards are adhered to.
  • Lead on establishing business needs and requirements (including non-functional requirements).
  • Create and manage Data Metrics and Key Performance Indicators; to support business decisions, improve processes and increase efficiency.
  • Lead the training of other members of staff on the Salesforce ecosystem to improve their Salesforce knowledge, skills, and processes.
  • Lead the implementation of a unified daily task driven workflow for use within the sales team.
  • Lead the sales and marketing team automations to improve internal team efficiency.
  • Design and support the integration of Salesforce with other business platforms. This may require the evaluation of AppExchange packages or other 3rd party software.
  • Control Salesforce User Administration tasks including User Access, System Security, Role and Profile modifications (including Permission Sets, Sharing Rules & Public Groups). Creation of Custom Objects, Custom Fields, Page Layouts, Workflow Rules, Validation Rules, Reports, Dashboards and Process Builder.
  • Create and manage scalable workflows, automations, and processes in the system while maintaining data integrity and increasing end user efficiency.
  • Lead the design and creation of Salesforce dashboards and reports for operational and financial KPIs.
  • Define a deployment pipeline between different Salesforce environments and ensure that it is maintained.

  • Experience of leading a Salesforce team.
  • Experience of mentoring, facilitating technical discussions and setting direction.
  • In depth knowledge of operational and application security.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a delivery focussed mindset.
  • Apex programming experience.
  • Experience with multiple Salesforce technologies: Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud and APEX.
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and an excellent attention to detail with a desire to own and resolve issues and challenges that impact the Salesforce platform.
  • Awareness of the latest Salesforce technologies and trends.
  • Extensive experience in the systems delivery lifecycle including requirements gathering, analysis, design, configuration, integration, testing (all phases), migration and deployment.
  • In depth understanding of Salesforce data modelling.
  • Proven ability to analyse, design, and optimize business processes via technology and integration, including leadership in guiding customers and colleagues in rationalising and deploying Salesforce solutions.
  • Experience working as a Salesforce administrator/developer on large scale deployments.

  • Experience working within a Salesforce consultancy.
  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ.
  • Experience of integrating Salesforce with Financial management platforms.
  • Salesforce certifications in Sales Cloud, CPQ and Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience working with AMPScript.
  • Proficient in SQL and SOQL.
  • Knowledge of Marketing Cloud integration offerings (FTP, API, MC Connect), extension products and features (Datorama, Audience Builder, etc.).
