- Practice autonomously as an ANP using collaborative and independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement, manage, and evaluate clinical nursing and medical care in the management of patients.
- Take responsibility for the management of patients within own caseload and supervision/development of junior members of the multi-professional team.
- Identify the need for appropriate diagnostic tests and interpret the results.
- To share knowledge and expertise, acting as an expert resource to others across primary and secondary care as appropriate.
- Lead on specific audit cycles to enhance the quality of clinical nursing and medical practice.
- Promote and lead nursing research within the Sarcoma service.
- Lead on the development of specific guidelines, protocols and standards.

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse with cancer experience who will lead the development of expert care for patients with Sarcoma. Skills and qualities required for this post include: Excellent communication skills with both patients and staff. A collaborative approach with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), working across professional and organisational boundaries as necessary in order to provide a comprehensive patient-focused service. Delivery of complex information in a clear and sensitive manner for our patients and their loved ones. A desire to develop nurse led research and audit within the Sarcoma service. Expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management skills, and the ability to deliver high quality nurse led clinics. Non-medical prescribing course desirable A commitment to delivering the highest quality, safe patient experience.
The Sarcoma Service at UCLH is part of The London Sarcoma Service, one the largest sarcoma services in Europe with an international reputation for providing the highest quality of care to patients with sarcoma. Sarcoma patients at UCLH are treated within the Department of Oncology, offering complex chemotherapy and radiotherapy to patients with soft tissue and bone sarcomas. Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Sarcoma team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing expert specialist care to patients with Sarcoma, that cares for patients with complex issues related to their disease and its treatment. You will be expected to work autonomously, running nurse led clinics for clearly defined patient groups within the Sarcoma specialty. Excellent communication skills, clinical skills and leadership, knowledge and pragmatic thought processes are needed for this role. You will also have an enthusiasm for service review and development, leading or participating in service improvements to continue to develop the highest quality service and patient experience.
