We are on the hunt for a visionary Cell Line Development Lead Scientist who can bring their expertise and creativity to our dynamic team focused on developing next-generation, industrially relevant cell expression platforms. Join us in revolutionising the development of therapeutic proteins and biologics at the forefront of innovation., Contribute to the delivery of new CHO-based mammalian expression hosts and vector systems for the expression of complex therapeutic proteins.
Explore innovative ideas to optimise the cell line development (CLD) process including the use of state-of-the-art automation equipment, novel technologies, and more, to push the limits of what's possible.
Independently lead several collections of projects from design and execution of experiments to data analysis and presenting of findings with confidence and clarity.
Work closely with cross-functional groups within & outside of R&D to deliver solutions or improvements in recombinant protein expression and support commercialisation.
Actively keep abreast of relevant academic literature (e.g., in the field of cell engineering and expression technologies), applying them in creative ways.
Key requirements
PhD degree/Postdoctoral fellow with at relevant experience in an R&D setting Or BSc/Masters with relevant experience.
Proven experience in mammalian cell line development and implementation/development of automation for cell line screening and optimisation, ideally within a high-stakes industrial environment.
Proficiency in CHO cell culture, stable transfection, single cell isolation (i.e. Beacon Opto-fluidic Technology), clonal expansion, and small-scale bioreactors (i.e. Ambr15).
Ability to translate basic scientific concepts into practical applications and integrate scientific knowledge to solve problems and issues. Communicate and apply scientific ideas effectively
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with key project team-level stakeholders. Proactive in building relationships within the group, forthcoming with support, and demonstrates strong ownership of deliverables.
Thrives in a collaborative environment and can also drive projects forward independently while supervising other junior members in the team.
