Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team and provide leadership to our Stroke and Neurology OT service. The post holder will lead and deliver occupational therapy services alongside a dedicated team of OT staff, working on the hyper acute/acute/ rehabilitation stroke unit, and early supported discharge service. Early supported discharge operates as an outreach service from the stroke unit, enabling patients to continue therapy at home following discharge. The team is committed to delivering high standards of care working closely with the multidisciplinary team across the whole patient pathway., Our department is committed to supporting and developing staff through appraisals and the supervision process. We provide clinical placements for students from Sheffield and Derby Universities, and we have a dedicated practice learning facilitator. You will be asked to help support students within the department.
We are commissioned to provide a seven day services so flexibility to work weekends will be required.

This role is part of the integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, where there are many opportunities to work across different locations and providers developing new and different skills. Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community which we may talk to you about in the future.
(Band 6-7 development post may be considered for candidates who demonstrate an interest and demonstrate relevant experience), We are seeking applicants with significant experience at a senior level, and who demonstrate specialist skills in Stroke/Neurology and rehabilitation. The post holder should also have a keen interest in positive leadership, operational management and service innovation, and have a passion for providing acute discharge planning alongside rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions.
