The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Service Designer to transform and optimize services, shaping the future of service delivery across the institution. As the Lead Service Designer, you will drive positive change and design innovative solutions, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to identify improvement opportunities. You will work as part of the Reimagining Professional Services team, an ambitious initiative which aims to create a compelling new future for professional services across the University of Cambridge. This role is part of large-scale initiatives aimed at adopting new ways of working to support our staff and academic mission.   • Lead service design across a landscape of services to create a roadmap for investment and improvement
  • Work with User Researchers, Continuous Improvement Analysts and other team members and facilitate workshops with diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define organisational outcomes and business goals in conjunction with user needs and translate these into operational priorities
  • Develop service blueprints and other artefacts to visualise complex systems and processes
  • Baseline the current state using inputs from business analysis, user research and other sources, collaborate with others to define success measures to evaluate the impact of service improvements, both digital and non-digital
  • Building an approach to service design that meets the needs of the University helping to introduce new ways of working and educating stakeholders

    We are looking for candidates with:
  • excellent problem-solving skills and relevant service design experience
  • extensive experience of working with user research and analysing the data to provide practical insight and actionable recommendations
  • the ability to interpret and map complex backstage capabilities such as technology, people, processes and policies
  • effective facilitation, communication and storytelling skills that help stakeholders understand research insight, and well as bring to life the future state experience
