Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated pharmacist to help lead the development of our inpatient pharmacy services across the Trust. As a member of our senior management team, you will oversee the Lead Pharmacists for inpatient services and also support the management of our Community Mental Health Team pharmacists. This is an exciting role that allows the potholder to help shape and develop pharmacy services across KMPT. They will be required to network and drive innovation in mental health medicines optimisation within the organisation, at the interface of inpatient and community services and work collaboratively with other stakeholders.,

  • The main duty in this role will be to take operational responsibility for the safe, secure, effective provision, management and strategic direction of all inpatient medicines management services across the Trust.

  • You will have a particular role in implementing and monitoring the inpatient clinical pharmacy standards and working closely with the Chief and Deputy Chief Pharmacist to identify service gaps and areas for improvement. You will be responsible for areas of service and line management of pharmacy staff.

  • You will also be involved in working with the other lead pharmacists in undertaking and developing audits and projects to evaluate and improve services alongside pharmacy and Trust priorities and objectives.

    The post holder will need to have an independent prescribing qualification and post-graduate qualification in psychiatric pharmacy, or relevant experience in mental health will be essential. There will be a requirement to join the on-call clinical pharmacist rota.
