Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our Lead Support Worker (known internally as Support Coordinator). You will be working in our brand-new Tenancy Support Service and in partnership with Blackpool Council playing a pivotal role in supporting customers to source and maintain their tenancy.

This is a new service for Blackpool and is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of a service that will make a real difference to people's lives. The service provides 5 key areas of support: pre-tenancy work, crisis intervention, short term tenancy sustainment, longer term tenancy sustainment and resettlement.

So, if you want to be part of a team that really cares and empowers you to help change a customer's life for the better, then this is the role for you.

Typical day as a Lead Support Worker

  • Meeting customers in the community and in their homes, working with them to achieve their goals and ensuring that the right things are in place so that customers are able to sustain their tenancy.

  • Working with other agencies and stakeholders across Blackpool to support and problem solve issues that our customers may be experiencing.

  • You will be networking with other agencies across Blackpool to ensure that your customers have access to the best support possible.

  • You will be supporting customers to put the right support in place with their other needs such as health and mental health.

  • You will be identifying and dealing with safeguarding concerns.

  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.

  • Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There's no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to collaborate with colleagues too.

  • You'll go home each day knowing that you have helped change our customers lives for the better, working for a Top 10 Great Place to Work in the UK.

    You bring

  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.

  • Experience of creating person-centred support plans, whilst supporting colleagues in working toward their plans.

  • Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.

  • The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.

  • Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.

    Our team

Looking for a job where you really belong? Where you can be, well you! Bring your uniqueness, brilliant skills and awesome experience to deliver amazing things for our customers. You'll join our team, who come from different walks of life and are here to support you as you make yourself at Home!

    Job details

  • This is a hybrid role, working across our meeting space; at home and in the community.

  • Flexible working hours. Where we're flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.

  • You possess a deep understanding of complex needs and how this impacts individuals.

  • You will occasionally work outside of hours and weekends, but this is to meet the needs of our customers.

  • Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.

  • You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
