Full Job Description

We are looking for a Lead UI Designer to join our digital team to lead the UI output of the team and design accessible intuitive user interfaces, prototypes and hi-fidelity visuals, as well as creating wireframes, conducting user research, and overseeing the implementation of designs as well as maintaining and evolving our design system.

About The Role

As the Lead UI Designer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product owners, developers, analysts as well as teams from creative, content & customer operations and external agencies & contractors to conceptualize and implement designs that delight and align with our brand identity and business objectives.

You will also:

Lead the UI output from the UX team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality, pixel perfect mobile first design solutions.
Develop and maintain our Emerald Design System to ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints, including documenting clear guidance for other designers & teams to follow.
Be responsible for the Global Style Guide and own the approach across all design files in Figma, ensuring consistent user experiences.
Effectively present and communicate insights, concepts, and rationales both verbally and visually to internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to other designers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Coach peers and junior designers for skills advancement and design process education

The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating visually appealing and intuitive user experiences and interfaces across multiple digital channels. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business, you will be responsible for developing user-centered designs that delight our users and meet business goals., Proven experience as a UI Designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating your process & outcomes
Experience of contributing to and evolving an organization's design system
Experience of presenting design work to stakeholders at all levels of an organization
Advanced experience using Figma to create smart variants & advanced prototypes
A strong communicator who is able to simplify the complex and concisely explain rationale and design decisions
Ability to plan, facilitate, lead and conduct internal workshops, pulling together outputs and presenting back to peers and stakeholders
Previous experience in visual design, interaction design, prototyping, animation, accessibility, wireframing, usability testing, design thinking, user-centered design
