Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead RVN to join our team on a temporary basis over 3 months to cover a sabbatical.

St Anne's is a large 10-vet clinic with access to fantastic surgical, imaging and monitoring facilities. Teaching and learning is a team effort and the practice is an approved nurse training practice.

The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of RVN duties including consulting, anaesthesia and ward work. In addition, they will directly line manage a subset of the nursing and Patient Care Assistant teams to ensure the smooth daily running of practice whilst supporting our team to grow and develop their skills.

Our nurses work a range of shifts times: 7:30am-4.30pm, 8am-5pm, or 10.30am-7.30pm. Weekends rota is 1.5 in 8 but this can be flexible to suit. We are fortunate to be a host practice for Vets Now and therefore OOH work is not required.

For over 70 years, we have been Eastbourne's largest veterinary practice, employing 10 Vets and 20 Veterinary Nurses. We are RCVS accredited, and our long-standing team are very passionate about our patients care. Continuity is something our clients appreciate, along with a quality service. We have separate dog, cat, rabbit, and isolation wards as well as having a partnership with VetsNow, who run an out-of-hours emergency service from our main surgery at St. Anne's Road.

We have an interesting caseload and work to a very high clinical standard with the aid of some fantastic equipment! Being located in Eastbourne provides an opportunity for a great lifestyle situated at the edge of the South Downs and by the beach so ideal for swimmers, paddle boarders and rowers! We are also close to Brighton and within easy reach of London.

At Linnaeus, we are committed to supporting the physical and mental health of all our Associates. We have an amazing team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across our practices and central support office in addition to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme which is available for everyone.
