Full Job Description

The Lead WBL Manager for WBL Programmes will support the Head of Department for Work Based Learning in Engineering in the leadership and management of the Engineering Apprenticeship Work Based Learning area. With direct accountability for the success and positive progression of the student cohort under the leadership of the Director of Engineering Apprenticeships and Jaguar Land Rover Programmes.
The post holder will be supporting the Head of Work Based Learning in responsibility for curriculum, resource & financial management, and quality assurance.

Through the effective deployment of resources and College systems and procedures, the post holder will ensure that each student has access to and receives an outstanding experience including high quality teaching, learning and assessment that will ensure our students develop the employability skills to gain a competitive advantage as they progress towards and along their chosen careers.
Whilst working within the core values and through continuous improvement, the post holder will develop the WBL area to meet or exceed the College's KPIs.,

  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in student outcomes, attainment

  • positive progression and destinations.
  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in quality of provision and

  • experience.
  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in apprenticeship and curriculum

  • planning and efficient delivery models.
  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in performance and management of

  • staff within the WBL area.
  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in delivery of specialist provision

  • through Apprenticeships and Work based learning.
  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in progressive application of

  • technologies to advance the specialist area.
  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in awarding body compliance: and

  • Supporting the Head of Work Based learning in work effectively with internal and

  • external partners to ensure priorities are met.

    OFFERS OF WORK

    For the successful candidate a conditional offer of work will be made. Our offer of work will be conditional upon a number of mandatory pre-employment checks, to include but not limited to: DBS, Barred List check, right to work check, internet search, TRA check (academic posts).

  • Educated to an appropriate level 4 in engineering or a related discipline or other

  • demonstrable experience.
  • Recent experience of a wide range of enterprises in the specialist area.

  • Experience as a Manager working with students.

  • Proven track record of improving success rates.

  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating student progress to improve success

  • rates.
  • Experience in engineering EPA.

  • Teacher Training Qualification.

  • Internal Verifier Qualification.

  • Assessor Award A1 or equivalent.
