As part of the Flexible Pipe Systems Offshore team based in Newcastle UK, you will be joining an established business and team with expertise in pipe design, manufacturing, and installation. This unique combination allows our customers to increase production and asset integrity whilst reducing the overall costs associated with a pipeline system. Partner with the best We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lean Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing principles and practices, with a focus on continuous improvement, waste reduction, and operational efficiency. As a Lean Engineer, you will work collaboratively across departments to identify opportunities for improvement, implement lean tools and methodologies, and drive a culture of excellence within our organization. As a Lean Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of current processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and areas for improvement.
  • Implementing and promoting lean tools and techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, TPM, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Oversee Daily Lean Management routine across different functions.
  • Leading and facilitating continuous improvement projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Track and report on project progress and outcomes.
  • Educating and training employees on lean principles and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering, to drive operational excellence and enhance overall performance.
  • Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of lean initiatives and ensure sustained improvements.
  • Utilizing data analysis and problem-solving techniques to address operational challenges and implement sustainable solutions and drive functions to adhere to problem solving techniques thru Daily Lean Management.

    Have a bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Have proven experience in a lean engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Have a strong understanding of lean principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Have effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with lean software tools (e.g., Minitab, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Have strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
