Learner Support Officers within the foundation team will support a range of students both within and outside of the classroom. These are varied roles where you can expect to work with learners with Educational Health and Care Plans or recognised special educational needs in areas such as maths, English, art and design, sports, sessions developing independent living skills... and more. No two days are the same.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with young people with special education needs, whether in or out of paid employment. Previous experience as a Learner Support Officer or Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be provided.

We are a successful, community-focused FE College based in the East of England. We have a thriving Foundation team and in recent years, the department has grown from strength to strength. We offer an incredible training package and a chance to work within tight knit and supportive teams.

Here at CWA we are proud of the success of our Foundation learning provision providing our learners with invaluable support to succeed in their chosen course - from pre-entry to Level 1. We recognise that all learners have differing needs and our continued growth in student numbers pays testament to the high-quality support we provide.

We offer an excellent package including a generous annual leave allowance of 30 days per year for support staff, plus five College closure days, plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part-time), fee waivers on some College courses, a contributory pension scheme with the Local Government Pension Scheme, discounts with local businesses and access to a cycle to work scheme. CWA focusses on staff well-being and utilises both internal and external resources, such as a well-being committee and access to a free and confidential Employee Assistance Programme as well as comprehensive training and development.
