Full Job Description
35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further., The Learning and Development Adviser will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of a range of skills development programmes and workshops for our lawyers and Business Team in the EMEA region. They will work closely with other members of the regional and global HL Learn team and other key internal stakeholders to develop, plan, coordinate and execute engaging and effective learning opportunities. They will also have the opportunity to facilitate training.,
- Work with the relevant EMEA Learning and Development Managers to develop, plan, coordinate and deliver in-person milestone programmes and core professional workshops for lawyers across the EMEA region
- Manage the design and delivery of in-person and virtual professional skills workshops and other development activities for members of the Business Team in EMEA, in collaboration with the Director of Learning for the Business Team (US-based)
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including partner sponsors, members of the global HL Learn team, the wider People team and Business Team leaders, to identify training needs and develop appropriate learning solutions
- Supervise the Learning and Development Coordinators or Administrators supporting the relevant programmes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external faculty to ensure high quality delivery and participant engagement
- Manage training resources, including materials, budgets and external vendors (whether faculty or providers of other services such as hotels, restaurants etc.), to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of development initiatives
- Track and oversee programme costs and contribute to the annual budget process
- Design and facilitate training sessions, focus groups, networking activities and internal and external presentations (e.g. promotional activities as part of the firm's recruitment activities), whether standalone or as part of wider programmes
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the development offerings, gathering feedback to continuously improve content and delivery methods and preparing reports
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and best practices in learning and development, proposing new topics and innovative approaches for programs and other development initiatives
- Take the lead on preparing internal promotional communications such as newsletters and welcome emails
- Be a point of contact for learning and development queries Other responsibilities:
- Support other EMEA development activities according to capacity Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program
- Several years' experience of working in a professional services environment in a Learning and Development role, ideally with some experience of designing and facilitating training
- Professional certification in learning and development (e.g. CIPD) is desirable
- Strong knowledge of the MS Office suite of applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, excellent video conferencing skills (Teams, Zoom, interactive software for polling, quizzes etc.), and proficiency in using learning management systems and other training technologies General Attributes
