Full Job Description

This is an exciting new role, joining part of a well established team, that will be central in enabling and facilitating a robust learning & development offer across the Trust, through all aspects of the employee life cycle., § Work as part of the Academy Team to co-ordinate and deliver of relevant aspects of the People Strategy and Vision 2030 in line with the Trust's Strategic objectives.
§ Undertake an active role in the delivery of the appropriate projects and programmes, including the Futures workstream, linked to the Vision 2030.
§ As part of a team, establish, maintain, and monitor early development programmes and opportunities.
§ Ensure colleagues learning journeys are positive and reflect the needs of the organisation, at all stages of the employee life cycle; from receiving a warm welcome during induction and orientation, to supporting ongoing career development and organisational growth through talent management.
§ Co-ordinate, design, facilitate, evaluate, and support a wide range of Learning and Development activity.
§ Support managers and staff to engage in lifelong learning supported by an effective Personal Development Review (PDR), assisting with promoting, monitoring, and reporting of the process and training of managers.
§ Provide advice and guidance to staff regarding training, education, and leadership development.
§ Work with the Learning & Development Manager and Head of Learning & Development to implement and deliver leadership and management development programmes.
§ Implement and advise on relevant learning & development policies, procedures and processes including ensuring policies are effective and supportive of our internal and external requirements.
§ Support the Learning & Development team in the management and implementation of the Trust CPD Training Needs Analysis to ensure that the Trust delivers a fair and robust process that supports staff development.
§ Support the Learning & Development team to co-ordinate and deliver appropriate L&D / OD solutions.
§ Work alongside key stakeholders to ensure that the Trust effectively delivers on its Mandatory Training requirements for all staff, including quality assurance of programmes and monitoring and management of capacity.
§ Provide an in-house resource for the design and development of e-Learning packages.
§ Support with the effective use of L&D Learning Management System (OLM) within the Electronic Staff Record (ESR), Oracle procurement system (NEP) and other methods of recording education related activity, ensuring that the functionality meets the needs of the Trust for accurate and timely information.
§ Analyse and act on information to proactively manage agreed targets, standards, activity reports and action plans for training and development and service improvement activities.
§ Deputise at meetings internally or externally to the Trust, and by leading on delegated work according to the needs of the Trust, ensuring that outcomes are communicated effectively and by discussing all relevant details with all stakeholders before decisions are made.
§ Participate in the delivery of individual and group learning solutions to support new ways of working, including team building and team development, psychometric profiling, coaching, and mentoring etc.
§ Develop strong working relationships with other relevant staff that have responsibility to deliver education as part of their role e.g. Practice Educator, Resuscitation Lead, Mandatory Training Leads, Nurse Specialists.
§ Establish and maintain effective liaison with internal communications staff to ensure training, education and service improvement opportunities are communicated to staff.
§ Produce and present written and oral reports relating to Learning & Development Activity.
§ Act as a coach and/or, mentor, providing support and advice to all staff across the organisation, leading by example, inspiring teams, and setting out expectations of what Learning & Development means at Alder Hey.

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care and has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients' homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man.
